Renaming planes folders, and size of the Airplanes folder in FSX?

I was checking freeware planes and noticed that some of my planes which were working perfectly starting showing up with black textures. For example, some of the planes had entirely black colored wings.  Which made me think. 

 

1. Is it okay to rename the planes subfolders in the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder? For example, "B747" to "1. B747" or "Boeing747"?

2. How large or how many planes do you have in your \FSX\SimObjects\Planes folder?
