Sim on SSD Scenery on HDD

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Quick question. My SSD (P3D + OS) is near capacity.

If I was to use Junction Link Magic to move some of my addon scenery to my HDD (E Drive) what impact would this have on the sim directly? Would it only be the initial load times that are slowed? Actual real time sim play (FPS/textures) would be ok. I was planning to try this with ORBX

Regards,

Dom

In my experience it only affects initial loading times, though the difference can be quite big.
I picked up a second 480GB SSD for cheap and use it for sims and games (500GB 850 Evo for the OS and applications). Even the cheapest planar TLC drives are great for this purpose, because you don't do as much writing as you would to the OS drive.

Thanks.

After doing some reading I think I will transfer some bits on to my HDD (E Drive) and link across.
