Question about Pilatus PC12

Featured Replies

I checked the SS in F1 and it looks really good. The only doubt I have is if the GNS is dummy like in the Aeroworx King Air (well, not dummy, but extremely limited in its functionality), or if it is fully functional. Thanks,Leo

The GPS in the PC12 by Flight1 is a Bendix/King KLN90B and is a nicely done simulation. It is not as thorough as the RealityXP's simulations of the Garmin 430/530 line (they are basically 100% functional) but is is probably the best KLN simulation currently available in any payware. It is linked to that aircraft and therefore cannot be transplanted into other aircraft because of its interaction with other instruments.

Thanks, for the answer, but I still don't know the answer to what I was trying to find out.Maybe I should change my question then. Can you arrange and modify FPs with that GPS, by entering procedures waypoints and/or routes? Or can you only select a Direct or an approach function and you have to create a FP in FS9 so the GPS/NAV follows it?I'll be more than happy to use a new/different GPS that works, other than the GNS530 that I have in almost every panel without a FMC.Thanks again,Leo

No, it's the default GPS in a different wrapping.Hope this helps.Allcott

>Can you arrange and modify FPs with that GPS, by entering>procedures waypoints and/or routes? Or can you only select a>Direct or an approach function and you have to create a FP in>FS9 so the GPS/NAV follows it?The Flight1 Bendix/King KLN90B in the PC-12 uses standard MSFS GPS information so the flight plan and any modifications to it are handled through the MSFS GPS flight planning tool. While this does seem to bother some simmers who want every little detail simulated I don't find it detracts at all from the simulation. I sim for the flying part and even with the RealityXP Garmin units I frequently enter the flight plan and save it in the trainer so that I don't have to futz with it in the sim.I'd rather spend my time with the flying part and the PC-12 does that very, very well. I can tell you from personal experience the Flight1 PC-12 is a very good simulation of the real aircraft.

Thanks for the answers. I guess it becomes a tough desition and I am one of those that hates the FS9 flightplanning. I was checking RXP has retrofits for this panel. I might buy it anyway. It looks too good.Leo
