I was flying into KAAO the other day and brought up the approach plate for Rwy 18 and it had the ILS on the approach plate so I tuned the frequency etc and flew the 051 radial for 21.8nm and thought why the heck is this thing not pickying up the ILS. I believe that you can add ILS to a runway using AFCAD. There was a thread in this forum within the last few days about how to do this; look for that. R-EDIT to add: I found the other thread. It is topic 309752 titled "ILS Landing". Sorry, I don't know how to link to that thread. R-

You can add the ILS in AFCAD, but ATC won't assign (or allow you to request) the approach nor will it show in the GPS without adding new approach data. You could cheat by requesting the GPS 18 approach (note that this approach is not current either) tuning the ILS and using it to assist. Remember to switch from GPS to NAV.scott s..
