FSW/Activesky 5 Merge

Featured Replies

Hi.Was wondering if anyone can help me with merging the FSW cloud set and Activesky 5 Enhanced. Is this possible? Will it improve the performance of my system, and how do I go about doing this?Currently I can only have about 30% 3D clouds and 50mi cloud draw distance without severe performance hits.My systemAMD Sempron 2800+ATI 9800SE 256MB1GB RAMFS9 on its own 80GB HDD.Thanks in advance!!

Hi Gasman1,fs sky world won't give you better performance. Clouds in Fs2004 are know to hurt performance without tweakssetting.Actually in ASV5, there is performance setting by limiting the clouds layer, limiting the clouds layers to 3 will help in general situation, see the previous thread. http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=276180&page=2Other factor as well, Antialasing setting on the video cards will affect performance when there is clouds. fs2004 Resolution you are using etc. Complexe Aircraft used, Aircraft texture used 32 bits or DXT etc.You can lower clouds resolution like 256x256 32bitDxt mips enabled as well to improve performance. Clouds draw distant can hurt performance.-Video Cards SettingDepend on many system and configuration, you can start with the basic Setting and increase them after slowly and see your performance.-AA and AF at 2-Image setting to performance-Turn off Vsync -In Fs2004 Display Setting-Antialasing is disabled -Lock your Target Frame Rate Slider at 25 or higher.-Set Mips slider default (4) -FS display filtering, test with Bilinear or Trilinear. If you have others question, there is our forum for these question.http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=171ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
