World2Xplane and Buildings at night

Featured Replies

New XPX user but this one issue is bugging me.

Is it normal for the OSM buildings used by w2xp to be lit up so much at night? They look like white cubes almost. This isn't so bad in sparcesly populated OSM areas with a few buildings but in New Orleans, where the OSM data is really good, it looks really odd at night.

Are there other, better night models out there that only have lit up windows but dark facades so they blend at night?

Hi bonchie,

can you provide a screenshot? Here's what I get in downtown New Orleans:

Most buildings look fine, a couple appear completely black. What do you get instead? Have you installed the required libraries for W2XP?

Weird. Let me check again and I'll take a shot.

Yeah, I installed all the libraries, but I'll double check that as well.

Figured it out.

I had accidentally set gamma up to 4.0. That was what was causing it.

Setting it back to 2.0 has everything looking like your shots.

Only other thing I've gotta figure out is why I have W2XP OSM models spilling onto my airports. My scenery.ini looks right, but I'll post a shot just to be sure.
