New AIsmooth

Featured Replies

Ive been using the new AIsmooth 1.11a now and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a lack of arrivals into the airfields? it seems all i get is really takeoffs..no landings..if so maybee 1 or 2.any ideas? im using the default settings.

HiI have spend 5 hours for watching the AI-traffic with "AISmooth" default settings. I have done this at EBBR and EDDF (busy airports). After a while, there are several planes (maybe 10 or more) in the pattern around these airports. The planes in the pattern were in conflicting with a plane behind them and it takes about 15 min that aircraft was landed. Most of the AI-planes are unable to land and dissapeared in the sky without landing (not realistic).I have spend another 6 hours for searching the best settings of "AISmooth" for a more regular landing of AI-traffic and "AISmooth" also lets doing his work.Finaly, after trying and trying, I found for me the settings who seems the best solution. Look at the attachements.Try them and if you don't like them reset the default settings.Have a good flight.Willy

I found in earlier versions if you are spotting from certain locations with user plane response checked it would not let AI land. I did not engage it in the latest. The disadvantage of this is it does not prevent AI from running into you on approach. I've been using a 90 second seperation to let me squeeze in a string of pearls at busy airports like KMSP and my larger aircraft panels have a TCAS installed either as a seperate instrument or in the EHSI. This lets me adjust approach speed to maintain seperation from aircraft in front and behind if one iscatching up.
