October 6, 200520 yr What is the correct way to start engines on airliners like the 727, 737, 747..?Do you engage the starters and at 20% turn the fuel starters on? I think I rememeber seeing a pilot for a 747-400 start the fuel first and then the starters. Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
October 6, 200520 yr Well the exact procedure depends on which aircraft you are flying, but in general, fuel is not turned on until the engine is spooled up, otherwise you get a hot start, which is not good.
October 6, 200520 yr In a 744, it has auto-start, which will not work unless the fuel flow switch is already on when you hit the nob.But other airplanes, yes you wait until a certain temperature until starting the fuel flow
