October 9, 200520 yr Yesterday I purchases the F1 PC-12 and after going thru the checklists, the engine is started but wont move the aircraft when releasing the brakes and applying power. It was suggested in the F1 forum to use the C182 to set things straight. Why should someone have to start this aircraft via another like the C182? It Totally bypasses the realism and the checklists that was provided. I have tried starting with the default cessna and then switching, going thru the startup procedure just as prescribed and it works, but this package costs way too much to have to start this way.I just reinstalled the PC12 and started the C182, then jumped into the PC12 and it still will only move under it's own power after starting the C182 1st.Now, I will say that this aircraft looks great, but I can hardly imagine why I should have to start another aircraft and jump into this one just to get it to work correctly. Hardly the quality of Flight1 at all. I know that there must be another way to fix this, please say there is.Any suggestions?Eric
October 9, 200520 yr Many - most - complicated addons from developers with seasoned designers at the helm recommend starting with a default aircraft before switching to the choice of aircraft for a particular flight, because some of the parameters are held in code, not in menu subsets.I guess this is probably one of your first complex addons for FS, or else you would already have encountered this problem?Once you have the sim and a flight up and running with the chosen aircraft, you can usually save the flight at that point - you don't have to start the flight everytime with the default aircraft.Allcott
October 9, 200520 yr EricI don't know what is causing you the problem with your new PC12-- but I think that maybe you misunderstand what is being said when you hear a recomendation to startup with a default a/c first. My understanding of this is that you startup "the SIM" with a default a/c at the airport of your choice. You then load up the PC 12 - and then start the engines of the PC12.I think I have that right. It is a bit of a nuisance. Personally I have never come across an addon - either freeware or payware - that needs this. But I also don't have the PC12Barry
October 9, 200520 yr No guys, I have the following add ons and have used FS since 1998:Eaglesoft Citation XPMDG 737NG full seriesAeroworx B200Flight1 C172Never had I had this problem where the engine is running and all set correctly (seemingly) and the aircrat not move. I have reinstalled and it still does it. However, it will move under it's own power after loading the C182, starting the 182, then shutting it down and switching to the PC-12. Strange thing is, that if I dont actually START the C182 the PC-12 STILL wont move, even after It's engine is started and creating torque, with condition lever in any position.anyhow, will start with the C182 from now on...I will admit though that many makers do suggest starting from a default a/c.ERic
October 9, 200520 yr By the condition lever, do you mean the `ground idle` selector? If you do, then the operation of this lever doesn't dictate whether the aircraft moves or not. You need the main power lever for that.I suspect the difference is that the Aeroworx B200 successfully replicates the unique characteristics of the B200 by controlling taxi speed with the condition lever. Just remember, the PT6's in the B200 total around 1500shp pushing 12,500lbs. That aircraft will move at flight idle, and ground idle is a good way of reducing residual thrust. The PC-12 has 1,200shp, pushing 10,000lbs - and only one engine! It doesn't do what the King Air does. Allcott
