October 15, 200520 yr I am using Flight Environment with ASV, latest versions.I am noticing lately [happen to be flying around Portland and Seattle] that the clouds appear a bit stretched vertically. I have never encountered this before. Could it be a flight environment issue?I have heard this can occur when far north, but this is only Seattle.See the two screenshots.Any ideas Peter?Greg
October 16, 200520 yr I don't see anything wrong with these screenshots Greg?I see this kind of thing often when using real weather for example.
October 16, 200520 yr Peter,To me the tall cumulus look vertically elongated like vertical streamers as opposed to cumulus in the foreground which are flatter and rounder.A similar topic was brought up in the Active Sky forum on September 23, but the links to the pictures are gone now.Maybe this is an ASV artifact to get cloud banks of a certain thickness.Greg Greg Clark
