No, this is not normal, but it's either a procedure not being followed, or hardware interfering.

Hi:

Also I am not able to regain manual controls after using AFS. I try to handle MIXTURE controllers but nothing happens. I can not get a correct cruise speed. The speed does not go higher than 170. Any idea?

How to solve a hardware problem? I am using Saitek X52 Pro. and CH Eclipse yoke.
