June 8, 20169 yr Hi. I'm a Mac OS user, so I'm waiting for the Mac release. But I'm wondering: why is there the X-Plane GNS430? Isn't it an anachronism? I guess the immersion could be challenged using this modern GPS unit in this old bird.
June 8, 20169 yr They modeled it after a actual aircraft that is still flying, so it has all the same niggles and updates as the real thing, including the GPS and mismarked placards. Steve McNitt
June 8, 20169 yr Many old propliners which are still flying today have been updated with modern radios - pretty much a necessity to fly in today's airspace. The upgrades are usually typical GA Bendix-King or Garmin kit, often wedged in to any available free space in, on, or under the panel, as is the case in the R/W DC-6 that PMDG modeled.
