Cross Canada suggestions sought

Recommended Posts

I've just gotten back in to FS9. But this time, instead of stock, I'm sporting Bird's Eye View, ActiveSky V enhanced, Ultimate Terrain Canada/Alaska and a Carenado Cessna 182. This makes a huge difference and gives me a good reason to learn how to navigate properly.I've decised to fly from Alaska (Cold Bay) in the West to Nova Scotia (Halifax) in the East in real time. Lots of short hops and sight seeing. :-shy So far I'm half a tank of fuel into the journey. BTW, is there any way to refuel if there isn't a petrol bouser at the airstrip?I'm interested in compiling suggestions of interesting places to fly past or in to. Can anyone point me in the direction of such a list(s) or make suggestions here? Thanks in advance.

If fueling only at airports/airstrips that are fuel-equipped is not an issue, you can go to the "fuel and payload" dialog under the Aircraft menu. Change fuel, and adjust your tank(s) as necessary and ok out.Maybe not as interesting as many other places, but stop in at CYWG for a drink on me.... :(I would bet that many if the more interesting places would be in and around the Rockies in Alaska and British Columbia. Misty Fjords are really nice if you buy the commercial scenery. (I don't know where Cold Bay is in comparison, but you'd have to get that scenery soon because you're probably not very far from it... :()

Thanks greatly for the advice on refueling. Don't know why I didn't think of it myself!

I'd suggest flying across the northern section of the Prairies - the terrain is far more exciting there than the southern portion, with UT Canada and Alaska you'll see a few million lakes up there. Be sure to make a stop at Malcolm Island, Saskatchewan. The runway is definately long enough for the 182RG, it's gravel strip on a small island. (It's misspelt Malcom Island in FS)
