VoxATC on FSX Doesn't Get Past "6.52 Initializing"

I see no sign of this problem elsewhere in the forum so here it is as a new topic. (By the way, there are hundreds of other posts showing so many difficulties with VoxATC, most unsolved, that I wonder whether mine is worth persuing or me paying the asking price.)

 

I installed VoxATCX on a Windows 10 PC that's using FSX. Thought I'd done all the essentials, according to the VoxATC Help pdf (aka User Guide): e.g. disabled FSX ATC; filed an FSX flightplan; got FSX to put me on the starting airfield and tuned comm 1 to (nearly) the right frequency (I say nearly because the frequency is 120.375 but the nearest the radio would allow was 120.38); went through the voice recognition training in VoxATC which worked, presumably showing that the mike works OK and the headset gives me engine sounds so the headset looks fine; brought up the VoxATC panel from FSX Views/Instrument Panel/VOXATC; and at this point I thought everything was all set to go. But on the panel was a statement "6.52 Initializing ..." and this was still there 20 minutes later after I'd flown from Beccles to Norwich in the 300CBi with no sign of any recognition of my flight plan or controller responses of any kind.

 

If anyone can help me sort this out I'll be delighted.

I can't help exactly as I use the "copilot" function which tunes the radios and saves having to use the speech recognition feature and I have never had any trouble with Vox using it that way, although I do intend to try to use voice commands at some point in the future.

 

Anyway. all I can think of is for you to do a reinstall of Vox atc and make sure the indexer completes completely, and then go to  the start menu and configure the various option menus that are available such as voice setup, and settings. Remember too that the traffic should be set to zero in FSX as Vox generates its own traffic.

 

When I used FSX, long ago, Vox always worked fine.

Thanks John. The installation runs out of time tomorrow so I've just got time to look at your suggestions, with fingers crossed. It's also been offered on another forum that I uninstal what I've got and instal (very carefully) another one. I might have time to do that as well. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid I'll be glad to see the back of the programme; it offers fantastic facilities for the price but that's no good if it doesn't work.
