There are a number of ways to update to the Anniversary Edition

 

Option 1 - update and keep existing files and applications - this worked fine and I had no issues

 

Option 2 - update with a fresh install - oops!

                This effectively wipes the registry whilst keeping a few important values

                 It also removes the 'RegisteredOwner' key from

 

                 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion

 

This effectively broke some of the current simMarket installers.

Manually creating a 'RegisteredOwner' key solved the problem.

 

Many thanks to their support team for pointing me in the right direction.

Hope there are not too many other surprises lurking in this new update
