FSX:SE Reccommend me a CPU!

Featured Replies

Hey guys...

I'd more or less reached that conclusion myself...

My current system is a Asus Maximus VII Formula m.board (1150 socket) with a i7-4950K CPU, 16MB DDR3 ram (1088 MHz) and a GTX970 OC graphics card. CPU and motherboard both water cooled  It's not a bad system but I'm trying to drive 3 1080p monitors in FSX and she stutters quite a bit. I admit I do run everything maxed out with a lot of scenery installed and HD aircraft

The i7-6700K will give me a bit more power but the 32GB DDR4 (at 3200 MHz) should make much more of a difference. With the water cooling going only to the processor, I should be able to clock the 6700 to at least 4.5 GHz

The big bonus is that with the money saved over the 2011-3 platform, I can get a GTX 1080 graphics card for very little over and above...

More thoughts?

Rob
