November 12, 200520 yr Bearracing has posted some great screenshots over in the screenshots forum - showing a number of great looking Naval a/c landing on an equally great looking Navy Carrier .I would like to cross post my response to him in this forum."Thanks for these Bear!Actually, I am looking for a new "theme" in Fs2004. I am a little tired of the "Bush flying" theme and I find big jets a little boring. So - what do I have to have to get the most out of a "carrier" theme. Do you have any recommended addons -- freeware or payware - that I could use to develop a FS carrier theme. Are there any websites that cater to this aspect of our hobby?"Any suggestions please? Thanks Barry
November 12, 200520 yr Peter Stark has an article on just this topic in the current issue of "Computer Pilot" -- many practical recommendations.
November 12, 200520 yr I have freeware F-14s and F-18s set up for carrier work, Bazza. I use Rob Barendgt's great arrestor modification; there's also one called 3wire. There used to be one called Arrestor Cables, but the author of that, Richard Hogen, went payware with FlightDeck3.Although there is a smart payware carrier to be had, I have quite enough fun with the freeware ones available. My favourite is HMNZS WAIKATO, by Savern Reweti. Just lovely work.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
November 13, 200520 yr There is also the virtual US Navy that actually does "deployments" around the world with the different aircraft of the AirWing" Not sure the url though, not my cup of tea. Should be able to search it on google.http://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpg
