Account Username Changed

Recommended Posts

I'm not quite sure what happened here but I had an account under this username and a few days ago I checked and the username was changed to tahomatom.  I tried to reset the password but nothing was sent to my email.  Out of curiosity I tried to register again with my old username and email and it let me as if it never existed.  All of the old posts I made are still there.  I submitted the contact form but I got no response.

This is exactly what you told me when you sent me the support inquiry (which I receive via e-mail).  I responded immediately to your inquiry.  Please check your spam/junk e-mail folder.  When our system identifies multiple accounts, I immediately merge those accounts as the AVSIM Terms of Service does not allow for multiple accounts.  When we remove members for cause, we do not expect them to show up again a few days later with a new identity (but that sometimes happens too).  We have hundreds of members who forgot their username/password or have a new e-mail address and no longer can request a new password as their registered e-mail address now longer exists and, instead of sending me an inquiry or requesting a new password, they make up a new e-mail address and try to register a new account.  Our system sees this and I usually will merge the older account into the newer account.  It can happen but it rarely occurs when two or more members register with the same IP address.  Mistakes are made and it appears one was made with your account.  If the e-mails in the tahomatom account belong to you I can fix this and merge his account into yours.  His account will be deleted.  I will notify tahomatom to register again for a new account before I remove his account.  It's strange he never notified us of strange e-mails in his account!  I apologize for any inconvenience!

About 3-4 years ago, I had over 7000 posts deleted as the owner had "accidentally" hit the wrong button.  Not a big thing.  Nothing is really deleted and my old account was archived and irretrievable.  Just started with a new account.  In your case though, I can fix the error if you respond to the e-mail I sent.

Best regards,

Jim

My apologies I saw the response in spam. You can delete this thread I responded via email.
