News Item:

Well-known scenery maker ORBX Simulation Systems just released its Germany North Region (GEN). This is in the tradition of their acclaimed Australia, Pacific Northwest, and more regions and shows their continued support for the old world.

GEN covers the Northern part of Germany up to a line between Kassel - Naumburg - Bautzen and will be augmented by a second part for Southern Germany later. It includes detailed hand-placed landclasses and autogen definition to substitute the wildly scattered houses by properly aligned blocks typically for German cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, and others. There is a variety of landscape starting from the Baltic Sea shoreline through the extended agricultural Northern Germany areas to the mountains of the Harz (based on a 20 m mesh included). The same attention has been given to vector objects like road and railroad lines, powerlines including wind turbines, alley trees, and others.

Special treatment and effort was devoted to Berlin as the German capital with a "Cityscape lite" based on a photoreal underground image and a host of POIs. Moreover, you can take off from 386(!) ORBX enhanced or even completely new airports.

The ORBX forum carries a detailed compatibility index with instructions how to include 3rd party airports already available in the area.

Germany North can be installed into FSX, FSX:SE, Prepar3d1-3.
