Ocean Waves are not so crisp

Featured Replies

Hi, I downloaded realwaves.zip from avsim and my waves do not apear so crisp like the screenshots show. They are more "washed out" like in apearance. I coped the supplied fx file in my effects folder and copied the texture file in my effectstextures folder. I tried the other wave files from a different author and the same thing happens, they are not so sharp. My textures are nice and shap for everything else on my sim....land looks good, and ocean looks great, its just the actual waves. Is there anything I could do?Thanks,Bill

For excellent water textures I recommend Peter Wilding's Flight Environment. You'll also get enhanced clouds and sky. This is payware, but well worth it IMO. Works great with ASV too.Ed

I have Flight Environment too and it's great. You can randomize your water and cloud textures with thousands of combinaitons so you never see the same thing twice. Also check and make sure your "Terrain Detail" is set to Land Only and "Water Effects" are set to High. That will give you good reflections on the water which might make it look sharper.
