November 19, 200520 yr Is it possible in FS9 to set a default wind speed and direction that will apply to all flights? Gerry Howard
November 19, 200520 yr You mean like setting it up manually, then every subsequent flight having the same wind? Could you create a flight with the wind characteristics you want, then save it as default and it still be there?I've never tried that...it should work...someone correct me. :)-Jeremy BurchThe Ozark Dogfighter http://forums.avsim.net/images/wedge.gifHappy Flying!Engine Failure: A condition which occurs when all fuel tanks mysteriously become filled with air.Firewall: Section of the aircraft specially designed to let heat and smoke enter the cockpit.Lean Mixture: Nonalcoholic beer
November 19, 200520 yr What Jeremy suggests works great. I always like a little chop in my flights, and I usually augment the turbulence with a gusty wind setting of say, 0 to ten knots. Those settings are saved in my default flight, and they "follow" me unless I use real weather, which of course overrides them.-John
November 19, 200520 yr Author Thanks you bopth. I'll try it.The reason is that the prevailing wind in the UK is south-westerly so that, even in no wind conditions, there is a tendency to take-off and land in that direction - noise abatement procedures excepted. In no wind conditions FS9 appears to chose the other direction for the default runway. Gerry Howard
