Using iMac w/Boot Camp

Featured Replies

Ok, seriously I have a few questions and I don't want the typical flames back or I'll ask the moderator to lock this thread.  I'm smart enough to know FSX will not run in macOS.

I am in school doing a Master's.  My FS PC that I used fried, it's dead and as a PS cooked the mother board it is gone.  However I bought a nice 27" 5K Retina Display iMac about 6 months ago; great for the MBA but not sure about it for FSX/P3D until the tuition payments stop bleeding me of cash for a new FS PC.

I do have it Boot Camped (Meaning it has two partitions and so I run Windows 10 Pro 64-bit on it).  Here is a bit of my tech spec.

4.0 GHz quad-core i7, TB up to 4.2GHz

16GB 1867 MHz DDR3 SDRAM

3TB Fusion Drive (Same as a Hybrid)

AMD Radeon R9 M395 2GB

Ok so it is a Mac, no overclocking and no changing out things.  How is FSX and P3Dv3 going to perform on this?  Anyone else ever experiment putting either sim on a Mac?  Give me 6 months and I will build a proper FS PC, but for now this will have to satisfy my urge to fly.

PS - I have seen FSX and P3Dv3 run on a Mac Mini.  It was not by any means full slider but I know it will work.

Thanks!
