evga GTX 1080/1070/1060 cards can seriously overheat

Featured Replies

There has been quite a buzz in some OC/enthusiast web sites about evga 1080/1070 FTW cards literally having their VRMs catch fire.  This is no joke, and it has become very well known that this problem potentially exists with these cards.  Seems all the cards with their ACX 3.0 cooler may be so affected, though I've yet to see anyone post anything specifically about a non-FTW card.  This has been taken seriously by evga, such they have released for the affected cards a bios with a more aggressive fan curve, and a thermal pad mod kit for the VRMs, which they will send to owners at no cost.  To get these, your card must be registered with evga. Check it out at http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/
