November 4, 20169 yr I do not know if this is the right forum to post suggestions. But it would be a great push for OpusFSX if the PMDG B737 or the FLS A320X supported the weather system of OpusFSX for their weather radars and wind shear predictions. Is there really no way of achieving this? Many are using ASN just because of this feature. Rene
November 4, 20169 yr Commercial Member First, OpusFSX is no longer developed, it was superseded by OpusFSI. Second, Weather radar has nothing to do with weather engines, generation, or injection. The WX data is extracted from with the sims memory. We recommend using the REX WX Radar addon as this does not try a force you to adopt any particular weather engine or weather data source. Stephen
November 4, 20169 yr Commercial Member Both OpusFSX and OpusFSI are fully compatible with any WX Radar addon. However, the REX addon does not try and force people to use their own weather engine and allow all and any source of weather data to be used, even the sims own static themes and of course any opus World Weather Themes, Live Weather, Historic Weather, and Imported Weather. November 4, 20169 yr Author Thanks, Stephen, for that answer. Sorry about calling OpusFSI OpusFSX. If you say you cannot do the same thing as ASN, I have to accept that. It's a pity though. And I have installed RX Weather Radar. Does not look nice and realistic, but works.
November 4, 20169 yr Commercial Member It's the ASN bootstrap DLL that provides the 'inside' link for the WX radar data, again it has nothing to do with the source of weather or the ASN weather engine. There should be a way to enable the DLL without using or relying on the asn Weather. The data has nothing to do with weather engines and so the addons should allow any source of weather. Anyway we recommended using the REX WX Radar addon simply because it doesn't attempt to restrict your options for weather generation. It would be nice if the ASN addon did the same. Stephen
