November 28, 20169 yr Hi all Win 10 64 So over the weekend all was going well with simming until my sound stopped for no reason. I have an Asus Xonar DSX card and have my speakers plugged into the green port. I tried uninstalling the Xonar drivers and reinstalling them - no difference. The Xonar UI control panel seems to show a sound output being played, but I cant hear anything. Then I switched my speakers from the soundcard to the motherboard, updated the Realtek audio drivers and same issue - no sound. Device Manager confirms that the soundcard is working properly. I do have sound through my USB headphones, but that is nowhere near good enough. Any ideas? Given that I have no sound either from the soundcard ot the motherboard, could it be that the motherboard is packing its bags?? I experienced this intermittently last week, but after a Xonar driver uninstall and reinstall, the sound came back. No such luck this weekend though Any ideas? thanks erich
November 29, 20169 yr Author Update: A rather large, forced Windows10 download last night seemed to restore the sound.
