FSX 737NGX no cockpitsounds

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, this is my first posting.

I tried and read a lot to solve my problem, but nothing helped.

The problem is, I can´t hear any cockpit sounds like pushback voice, APU, firealarms, etc.

I hear engines starting and outside the engines sounds.

In the FMC,Menue,Setup,Options,Sound,Device I see´none´, nothing else.

I hope you can help.

This is why. This is evidence that not even your computer really knows what's going on. Right click on the speaker icon at the bottom right of your screen (down by the clock in your task bar). Select "Playback Devices" and make sure your actual speakers are set as the default device (single click the one you want to set as default, and then click the Set Default button at the bottom of the window). If there are no devices, or the devices don't seem to make sense (you don't see "speakers" listed anywhere), then you need to make sure you have the correct audio drivers installed (usually for your motherboard, unless you have a specific sound card).

Kyle first of all thanks for your answer. I´ll try, when it works or not I´ll call back.

Hello Kyle, it´s me again.

Meanwhile I tried everything you said and a lot more, but nothing helped. I have installed the correct audio drivers again. Inside the cockpit nothing is to be heard. Do you have any more ideas? thanks!

Not sure, honestly, but if you don't see anything in the drop down, then your computer doesn't know what kind of sound devices you have. With that in mind, it doesn't know where to properly route sound.

If nothing is showing up in that box, then it is definitely a hardware issue. If you installed drivers, and nothing is there, then you're likely not using the proper drivers. The whole purpose of a driver is to tell your computer: "here's how to work with this hardware." If nothing shows up in a drop down, then your computer hasn't been told how to use aforementioned hardware.

We can tell your computer to make sounds all day, but if your computer isn't aware of where to send it, then it's all for a loss.

I think it was my fault, that I didn´t explain exactly what I did.

I clicked on the speaker icon at the bottom right of my screen. I selected "Playback Devices" and made sure my actual speakers are set as the default device. There at ´Playback Devices` I can decide between different devices as, my standard loudspeakers (Realtek High Definition Audio), TripleHead2Go-C (NVIDIA High Definition Audio), Realtek Digital Output (I didn´t use it yet).

that´s it, thanks

Set one of those devices as default. Then, go into the sim and ensure a default device is set there as well. Finally, check the CDU MENU page > PMDG SETUP > SOUND to ensure a device is set there (it should automatically select whatever your default is, but check to be sure).

Hi Kyle, that´s what I exact did. I set one of those devices as default, than checked the sound device in the FSX under Options, Einstellungen, Sound. (It is the same as default device.) Then I restarded the Computer,  and opened the CDU MENU page > PMDG SETUP > Options, SOUND, and under Device is still <none> !!

that´s it, thanks

1. Delete the contents of this folder:

32-bit Windows versions:
C:\Windows\System32\directx\websetup

64-bit Windows version:
C:\Windows\SysWow64\directx\websetp

Then try running the DirectX web setup again (this is the same thing that comes with the NGX installer):

If 1. doesn't work try:

2. Try installing from the full download DirectX installer instead of the smaller web version:

If 2. doesn't work try:

3. Try installing from the full-blown DirectX SDK:

It is worth mentioning that this issue is completely a Microsoft problem, PMDG does not make the DirectX runtime installers and there are numerous reports of this type of issue involving other non-PMDG software/games if you do a Google search. We're not responsible in any way for the error occurring.
