Runway lights visible above clouds.

Featured Replies

At dusk/night, runway lights are visible even when above a layer of "overcast" clouds (actually in X-Plane "overcast" does not produce a 100% coverage, but in this case I made sure that there were cloud puffs between the camera and the runway, and yet the runway lights are still visible). Can you confirm this before I file a bug report?

I also have this in X-Plane 10. Suprised, because this invalidates a basic IFR scenario...

Yeah, it´s been like that forever :-(( File a bug, if just to bring it back to attention. I feel that Laminar is a lot more receptive about suggestions these days with everything in flux.

For IFR training you can still use X-Plane, because once you enter the haze layer or clouds, the runway lights are gone. However - street lights still show through the fog (at least in XP10).
