Possible to make symbolic link for XP11 to use custom scenery folder from XP10?

Recommended Posts

Thought I'd chime in on this with some specifics on how to link your XP10 Custom Scenery to XP11.  My Custom Scenery folder is currently 486GB so didn't want to just copy & Paste.

Before running these steps I suggest you rename the current XP11 Custom Scenery to another name.  Something like "Custom Scenery1".

1) Run CMD as Administrator.  Go to Windows Start button and type in "cmd" into the search window.  Right click on the cmd program and "run as Administrator

2) Type "cd /" to get to root directory

3) Type mklink /d "D:\X-Plane 11\Custom Scenery" "D:\X-Plane 10\Custom Scenery" .  The quotes have to be there in this command instruction.  Use the drive and location of your particular setup.  I have both XP10 and XP11 on my D: drive.  Some may have C:\Username\Desktop\X-Plane 10\Custom Scenery"

Hopefully these instructions are clear enough and helpful to someone.
