Mega Scenery Earth - What do you think?

Featured Replies

I just purchased Ultra-Res Cities MegaSceneryEarth New York City and the Northeast bundle. In general this scenery is OK for Photoreal but that's all I'll give it... it's just OK.

I was very disappointed to with Ultra-Res Cities MegaSceneryEarth New York City. This scenery is very, very, very OUT OF DATE! A few examples... it's 2016 and Shea Stadium has been gone for SEVEN YEARS! Where is Citi Field??? As for Manhattan, it has NOTHING TO DO with TODAY's (2016) reality.

I think MegaSceneryEarth.Com should be up front as to what year the images used to create the scenery is from.

I'm upset with the above but I want to give credit where credit is deserved... Although the Northeast Scenery bundle has very inconsistent colors from state to state the mountains of northern New Hampshire are very realistic.

What do you think?

The latest MegaScenery, V3, released so far indicates the year the imagery was taken so perhaps they have been listening to you.  They haven't released NYC or NY yet but the imagery seems to be better as it appears to be clearer in most cases. The imagery is from 2015/2016. But, I can see how disappointing it might be not to receive up-to-date imagery.  I believe they are subjected to getting the best imagery available.  They are not like Google who flies over major metropolitan areas frequently to get the most up-to-date imagery.  As for Manhattan and New York City, I strongly recommend you get a product like New York City X -  http://www.drzewiecki-design.net/prodNYCity_X.htm.  If you have it located above your NY photoscenery, it will fit nicely.  However, be wary it will not be FPS friendly.

Best regards,

Jim
