December 19, 20169 yr Hello Paul & Alex I don't get to post here too much these days congrat's on your nice program Paul as you know I have been keeping the members of the F1FTN series support group ( FTN 750/650) up to date about the Little NavMap program best regards Tony
December 20, 20169 yr Hi Tony, Welcome to the forum! All congrats to Alex on the excellent software he develops. I'm curious if you also have the GTN 650 as I've got the 750 and often thinking about buying the 650 as a couple of planes I have allow using both together in their virtual cockpits. For example the Milviz 310R which is fast becoming a favourite plane of mine. December 20, 20169 yr Author Hi Paul, Funny thing my first name here on Avsim was tonyg20 now it is tonyg2000 First to answer Seat's question about invalid flightplan waypoints locked in GTN 750 until Garmin trainer is updated to latest navdatabase's in the future what I do after saving the GFP file and starting Prepar3D load the file into the GFP 750 and preview the route plan any locked waypoint is deleted in the GFP file and then reloaded and good to go you can make a user waypoint in place of the locked waypoint if you need to use that part of the route on your question about the 750/650 combo I don't think you really need to purchase the 650 when you can install the 750 twice in the cockpit or as 2D popup and use cross fill that way I think the 750/650 combo looked very nice in the cockpit look at some UTube of the units in action and use the same tricks with two 750's instead Tony
December 20, 20169 yr Author Hello Here is some more info on the GTN 750 and waypoints locked at present the GTN 750 is using nav database 1607 from garmin unless you use flight planners with nav database 1607 or less you will run into the locked waypoints problem I use Simbrief.com for most of my flight planning but the cycle is 1520 or so I found a little program called Online flight planner (onlineflightplanner.org ) here you can use navdata cycle 1607 and have no locked waypoints problem I will post this info on the F1GTN forum also Tony
December 20, 20169 yr Hi Tony, Great find re Online Flight Planner. Just had a good look at it and it's very useful, especially as you have pointed out it enables you to change the AIRAC cycle you want. Hopefully one day Flight1 may update the GTN's to use the latest AIRAC data instead of the Garmin trainer data. We can only hope :-) Kind regards Paul Watts - St Helens, Tasmania, Australia (i7 6700K, 16Gb, GTX 1080, 50" 4K Monitor, 21" Acer touch screen, Windows 10, Prepar3d, X-Plane, ORBX, Rex (All), ActiveSky)
