Hi All,I'm having trouble with taxi speeds, regardless of size or type of aircraft. Seems like in just a couple of seconds taxi speed is up to 35-40 kts. Braking drops it, of course, but it shoots up again. Sometimes an aircraft will creep while drpressing the brake on joystick.Any ideas about how to return to more normal taxi speeds?ThanksBob

Sounds like throttle calibration. I always calibrate with a slight null zone as well and don't bottom the throttle during calibration but move it to slightly above during gaming options calibration. This makes sure idle is in fact idle.Another test if you retained default assignments is to hit the F1 key to set idle throttle.If you are doing turboprops make sure the condition lever on the throttle console is at ground/beta idle, not flight idle which adds a power bias in flight to reduce spool up time.Operate your throttle with the throttle window open to be sure the levers are following your stick/lever commands.It is normal for some high powered aircraft to taxi too fast. Solution might be one engine taxi, turboprop minimum reverse thrust applied occasionally to slow the aircraft. There also are real-world discussions on taxiing some airliners with just a tad of reverse thrust once up to speed to open the reverser vanes/buckets to add drag. These are kept open, not cycled like with turbo-props which get reverse drag via prop pitch.Lastly check brake calibration and use the parking brake for any sustained parked conditions. It is more powerful than the toe brakes.

You could always get Rob Barendregt's excellent ground handling gauge avaialble here at avsim which allows you to control taxi speed amongst lots of othe useful features (primarily pushback and turn control). I have used it for a couple of years and wouldn't be without it.
