avationtag - a small piece of aviation history

Featured Replies

hi folks

some might have read about it already as it was just recently featured on AirdailyX, but i thought i'm gonna put it in here as well as this might be a nice, unique (self-)gift for aviation geeks.

Avationtag is a german company which creates tags out of the skin of retired aircrafts. Its literally going from Mojave Desert right into your pocket ;)

20€ might be a bit much to ask for a simple piece of aircraft grade aluminium, but it comes with engraved registration number of the Aircraft it has been taken from, which makes it a nice, unusual and unique gift for us kerosene heads ;)

They are currently running a limited edition made out of parts of D-ABVC (the multicolor variant is sold out already), Lufthansa's retired B744 flagship that served 20 years and cumulated 100'000 flight hours. Now the old girl has a new purpose.

Have a look at their shop to see what airliners they currently offer. I ordered one of the white D-ABVC tags this morning and it looks they deliver worldwide, but you might want to check if your region is available for delivery. They currently offer A319, A320, B744 and DC9 tags, more might be added in the future, depending on availability.

EDIT:  Direct link to store removed.

As a nice addition, they offer lost and found services for free if you register your tag's registration number after purchase.

Thats how they look like (image courtesy of aviationtag)
