What lights to turn on for cruise, landing and departure!?

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

What lights do I turn on for takeoff, taxi, landing and depature? In the Boeing 737 and the Airbus a320

Also how do I turn on the engines in the Airbus a320 and B737-800

Please give your answer in a list and make it clear.

Thanks!

You need to make your question more clear as far as the specific aircraft you're talking about. What 737 and what A320? As for the lights it's generally something like this:

NAV lights: On when the aircraft is powered.

Beacon: On whenever the engines are running.

Strobes: On when entering an active runway, off when exiting.

Taxi: On for taxi (duh), usually turned off after takeoff.

Landing lights: On when entering active runway, off crossing 10k feet. On when coming back down through 10k and off when exiting runway.

Logo: Usually on during night ops below 10k feet.

Wing lights: Same as logo. Depends though.
