From interier to exterier

I seem to have my cameras set up properly. The buttons on the joystick control the cockpit cameras and some keys control the exterior cameras. I can go to the cockpit cameras but from there can not go to the exterior. Do I need to set up a key from something else before making the transition?

What is preventing you from going to external view?
