Repaint of the PMDG Queen II in my VA livery

Featured Replies

Had a go with the PMDG paint kit for their shiny new Queen of the Skies 2 Boeing 747 do-over...

For those of you doing repaints who want a quick way to dirty things up a bit, here's a good tip with the paint kit: Select the panel guidelines layer in PS, stick some Gaussian Blur on it and then drop the layer opacity to about 25 percent. Make sure you keep that layer visible when you flatten things out and make the DDS. I did that on this paint job, just to give the panel and rivet lines a bit more definition and make it look ever so slightly dirty, as I tend to find that unless it's a brand new paint/decal job on an airliner, they usually look a bit like that after some service, especially if the livery is primarily white like this one.
