Fuel Tank Usage Question

Featured Replies

Hello,My new Cirrus Sr22 has two fuel tanks - left and right. How do you utilize these throughout a flight? Do you switch them at a fixed interval? I'm not a real pilot - just a sim pilot - so I don't really have a feel for this. Instinct tells me to switch back and forth to maintain balance. Thanks in advance,Ron SagelNEAR KCHS

As they say, start off with the fullest tank. If both are full, and your fat & flying solo, then use the left first to balance the load. That's what I do! :) I just figure on switching every half hour at around 9 gph. I haven't looked into the fuel usuage of the SR22. It might vary some.L.Adamson
