Hello, Newbie question please: I have gone back to FS9 to get a lot of FPS when I use my new PILOT2ATC ( I have XP10 and FSX also). I noticed that when I switch to the P2ATC window to say tune the tower for takeoff, I loose my cockpit sounds. (engine, etc) When I switch the window back to the sim, the sound returns. Hello, Since I cannot get my Q400 forum login approved yet (email problem like many others) I will try for help here. I can fly the new Q400 (many test flights) great now - a little rough on landings but OK. What I cannot get yet is my VOR activation. I usually do not use the FMS for my short hops - just VOR - to - VOR. I cannot get it to work yet - probably my fault. Here is the situation: I am completely ready to pushback. I enter the VOR that I want to use into the radio VOR1 area (say 113.50 for KCHS) I am leaving from KCAE. All switches (I think are set to VOR 1) - Source selection I see the VOR 1 on the display I see the 113.50 on the display I take off and climb to what I am sure is radio range - the VOR range is 195 miles for KCHS I am less than 100 miles from the VOR The needle never activates. However, if I am at KCHS and do the same ( say parked) - tune 113.50 - the needle activates. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks in advance, Ron Sagel

Hello, MY new Majestic Q400 bounces around the airport when I start it up. I always start with the "complex startup" and all is fine. I then load the Q400 and it is "bouncing" around the start point - into the air. I can usually stop it with a reset of the flight and a new load. What causes this to happen? Hello, I have seen this for years - what causes scenery items and aircraft to "jump" up and down at airports? It happens a lot and it seems to bother a few of my FSX aircraft like my Vans RV7. Hello, I have almost all of Carenado's a/c (great). I recently got the C90 King Air to replace my FS9 Aeroworx version. I use Active Sky 2012 for weather. Today I tried my first flight with the C90(FSX) from KDAB to KCHS. I set the alt to 9000 and climbed out. At 9000 I leveled out and set up auto pilot for the rest of the trip. It was raining and I decided to climb to 12000 to get better weather. I set the new alt to 12000 and set the autopilot to VS of 600 feet. As soon as I engaged the climb, the aircraft went into a violent manuever, flipped over and went into a dive. Rather than try to recover, I just quit and tried to find a problem. I use FSUIPC(registered) I use AS2012 for weather Any ideas here as to what could have caused this? I have had a few weather related problems with weather programs but this was really severe. Hello,Long time simmer with FSX, FS9 and now FLIGHT. The performance is great for me. It still looks like a "game" to me.What I would change next is to have something like FSUIPC or direct setup for a great number of flight sim hardwares.I have a big GOFLIGHT setup and would really like to utilize my radio, LG, flaps, and Auto Pilot.With those added and maybe a relaxed "Free Flight" mode, I could get to like this sim.Cheers,Ron Sagel

Hello,Watch out for this one - I have a rather big sim setup, GOFLIGHT modules, Saitek x52, pedals, etc. When I set up my FLIGHT, I had a bad time getting controls towork and then I realized that the FLIGHT setup (at least for me) required me to delete a lot of what I had in devices like my GOFLIGHT Throttle. I also deleted all of what I found in my CH pedals.When I was done. I had my stick on the ailrons and elevator. The throttle, Prop and Mixture on my GOFLIGHT and the rudder on the pedals. There is a known problemwith the brakes on the pedals. Toe brakes do not set up yet. All in all, the "game" is OK for now, I hope it evolves into a flight simulator as it developes. The system runsvery smoothly on my quad.Cheers,Ron Sagel

Hello,Believe me, I did not like the idea of investing another $200 in my flight sim system. I had installed, like maybe you , a ton of addons over the years. It was alway seamless. Both my FS9 andmy FSX ran great. I also ran XPLANE 9 on the same system with my GOFLIGHT equipment with no installation problems.This was a totally new experience. Only those two (2) installs, the FSX PMDG 737 and the FSX IFLY 737 would not install. They would appear to be installed and the DLL file was contructedcorrectly. However, when the FSX system loaded up, the DLL's indicated that they were loading but they never would execute. Beats me! My end considerations came from the TECH people atPMDG and at IFLY. They were stumped too but had the same conclusion - Go to Windows 7.I'm very pleased right now with my sims - my system is running on three computers with Wide FS and it runs great. FSX at 39FPS and FS9 at 50 FPS.The PMDG ONLINE SUPPPORT (Live hookup) checked my entire system when it was on Windows XP.We could never get it to work with either the IFLY 737 or the new PMDG 737.I have no clue what the "deep XP" problem really is - I only offer my experience to those who may be in a similar situation.Thanks,Ron Sagel

Hello,This is offered as information from my experience only. While it may be somewhat unique, it is offered in good faith.I have a complex flight simulator setup. I use FS9 and FSX with a rather big GOFLIGHT setup. Recently, I decided to add the PMDG 737NG to myFSX setup. I waited until the dust settled and the SP1 was delivered. I downloaded the item and installed it. It seemed to go OK but I found that it would notACTIVATE. I looked in the DLL file and the entries were there. The dll required for activation just would not run. I sent a Support request to PMDG and theywere very responsive. I tried all of their suggestions used to get an XP installation to work. None were successful.I found a coupon for a FSX upgrade to my IFLY FS9 737. I got the item and found the same problem. It would not activate. At this point I went to thePMDG LIVE Support. They were once again very helpful. After spending a lot of time poking around in my system, they concluded that the problem wasa "deep XP" problem. Their suggestion was to move to Windows 7. I thought about this and decided to spend the money necessary to go to WIN 7.Well, after many hours of installation and setup, the problem was solved. It was in fact the Windows XP that I had on my system. I have a Dell XPS with a quadCPU and 4gigs of RAM. My hardware is very "upscale" and the system was always up-to-date.I hope this experience will help anyone who is considering moving up to these complex sims on a Windows XP system.Cheers,Ron SagelNEAR KCHS

Hello, I am finally getting to the point where I can really fly this thing OK. Cold and dark startup, taxi, T/O, Cruise and Approach are fine now. I am having a problem in the final stages of landing - I am at flaps 25, torgue at 27-29, speed at about 140knots then touchdown. What do I do now to slow the aircraft down correctly to the point that I can get to TAXI? Thanks in advance, Ron Sagel

Hello and thanks for the help. I don't know what I did but I got this fixed your way. It seems that if I load a J41 that is one of the original paint schemes FIRST, go Cold and Dark and then switch to a repaint it is OK.I set up an AA version in NASSAU as a J41 default (after I load my FSX default) and then go from there. It seems like a lot of work to get to a state that I could fly. If PMDG really has some time here, a panel save function would really be a great help. Cheers, Ron Sagel

Hello, When I start up FSX, I always start with a default load of the DC3 with everything cold and dark.If I load the J41 Tutorial Flight, it will always load fine and I can start up cold and dark.I can also relocate to any other airport and fly fine. The problem comes when I try to select the J11 from the aircraft menu when I have say the default loaded. The load startsup not cold and dark and very soon the engines will begin to fire up and they will catch on fire.I also cannot load a different J11 after I load the tutorial (say to change the skin to another airline) - same result. HelloThe new software version did not work with my TrackIr 3 (Software version 5.0). They put out a beta version of the software that now works withmy version 3 hardware. This software is much smoother on my system and is a huge step forward for my flight sims. It only has a "default" profilethat seems to need no tweeks for the smoothest operation to-date on my system.Cheers,Ron Sagel
