August 6, 201114 yr Hello, When I start up FSX, I always start with a default load of the DC3 with everything cold and dark.If I load the J41 Tutorial Flight, it will always load fine and I can start up cold and dark.I can also relocate to any other airport and fly fine. The problem comes when I try to select the J11 from the aircraft menu when I have say the default loaded. The load startsup not cold and dark and very soon the engines will begin to fire up and they will catch on fire.I also cannot load a different J11 after I load the tutorial (say to change the skin to another airline) - same result. Can anyone please help here with what I am not getting right? Thanks in advance and cheers, Ron Sagel
August 6, 201114 yr That's because tutorial flight has some settings set in save file. Unfortunately J41 is unable to save panel state. My way to avoid any problems was to create own saved flight file with C&D settings and run J41 via that file and then moving it to departure location of my choice. EDIT: I soon learned that this is best way to start FSX so I created such files for all my addon aircraft and have them pinned to taskbar, so the are all hidden under one icon.

August 7, 201114 yr Author Hello and thanks for the help. I don't know what I did but I got this fixed your way. It seems that if I load a J41 that is one of the original paint schemes FIRST, go Cold and Dark and then switch to a repaint it is OK.I set up an AA version in NASSAU as a J41 default (after I load my FSX default) and then go from there. It seems like a lot of work to get to a state that I could fly. If PMDG really has some time here, a panel save function would really be a great help. Cheers, Ron Sagel
August 7, 201114 yr Panel save will never be implemented in this plane, but what you can do is create your own saved flight file, which I did. There's also C&D application somewhere in AVSIM library, which resets plane to C&D automatically after loading, and of course there's FS2Crew, a must have addon IMO, where FO will do it for you also. Oh, there's also way to achive it via registered FSUIPC, but I'm not familiar with LUA script.Cheers,
