  1. Q-twice is fix for this issue, which is very common, I have it with NGX and other aircraft.
  2. I had this (or similar) problem, but only with first builds of Accu-Feel, after few updates everything started to work as it should.
  3. You have pressed "follow this forum" button on main page of this forum, press it again (I think).
  4. Regarding question 2: No, it's impossible. You should get at least FSUIPC or AS2012 or best both of them Weather engines will not affect performance unless you use high quality textures that come with them. AS2012 WDC mode will smooth out all winds, but will cause other problems, like wrong runway assignments etc, Smooth Cloud Transitions with smoothing from FSUIPC is best of both worlds in my opinion. There are other weather engines out there but I don't use them, so can't say how they work etc.
  5. There should be absolutely no problems with AS2012 and NGX. Which mode in AS2012 are you using? DWC has enough smoothing and flight should be flawless, while with Smooth Clods Transitions and Standard there will be rapid changes in wind direction and speed. There was bug in some older versions of FSUIPC, which could lead to s-turns, the walkaround was to set all weather options to off (in FSUIPC cfg), this bug was fixed long time ago, but you can always try flight with FSUIPC removed from FSX to check it out.
  6. FSX? Most probably not. NGX? Most probably yes.
  7. Nope, as Jay mentioned it above, this must be done in Photoshop, or other advanced photo editor. Changing it in FSX menu will affect only ATC.
  8. Xenon is better, but harder to overclock and more expensive...
  9. Fix? They're making it from scratch so be prepared for brand new set of bugs
  10. System repair may be a problem here. It takes your current settings but restores outdated files, this must lead to errors. I have recently upgraded Windows7 to 8 with same results. Full clean OS installation was required to clean all the mess that "update" process did. Repair is good for office computers, that usually are used only for text and porn
  11. I had similar issue on WIndows 8 and Aerosoft's Ibiza, it was caused by Ibiza's road traffic. Disabling that feature in Aerosoft options fixed it. I know it may have nothing to do with OP's issue, but it never hurts to try
  12. There's no cheap way, always buy as good equipment as you can afford, or even better! This way, you wont be limited by your gear, also there will be no excuses like: "I can't play this, because my bass sucks...", and if you wanna be really good, expect to sacrifice a lot. Being "touched by god" and having natural talent is good, but without long hours spend on practicing, means nothing.
  13. Indeed FSX can be frustrating, but also gives lots of fun once you sort out all problems. I have no idea what to say more, try talking with HiFi team on their forum, they're very helpful and have great support. official: http://www.hifitechinc.com/forums/forum.php unofficial: http://forum.avsim.net/forum/171-the-unofficial-active-sky-support-forum/
  14. That's what I call souvenir
  15. It seems that you are using Win7/8/Vista and have FSX installed in default Program Files directory, which has additional security restrictions. It's good idea to install FSX outside of this directory.
  16. Are you, by any chance, using some old or unregistered FSUIPC? The only situation when wind shifts were happening to me in DWC mode, was when weather was stacked/hanged (I don't know proper word), by FSUIPC, and as I mentioned this bug was solved, but could be still present in unregistered version. DWC does not need any additional smoothing in FSUIPC.
  17. Disabling turbulence effects in FSX options should help with S-turns. As for AS2012 in DWC I'm quite surprised that it can cause such problems. I've been using it (ASE) with all my addon airplanes (J41, MD11, NGX, etc) and never had any problems (besides the bug in FSUIPC which actually caused s-turns, but it was solved long time ago). Generally I prefer Smooth Cloud Transitions in AS2012, but when I switch to DWC I turn off all weather options in FSUIPC. Of course 747 is quite old now and could be written in other way than other PMDG products.
  18. Is this On The Backs of Angels by Dream Theater? Actually chords used point directly to John Petrucci
  19. Victor, I think I don't understand Why engaging LNAV is impossible? Do you have some bug that prevents you from doing it or you simply don't know how to do it? If you're unsure, then you should complete basic tutorial (and later advanced) and everything will be clear. Alternatively, there's YouTube which is full of NGX FMC (and not only) tutorials. Discontinuities are normal and you should learn how to connect them, it's very, very, very... simple and common You should never fallow dotted line, your AP should fallow solid one! AivlaSoft EFB (or IF , and other apps too) will make this process easier, but it will not do your job as captain of jetliner. Express tutorial to AivlaSoft EFB: Start EFB, go to "Route Setup" tab, than "Select" tab and click "Route Finder", a new window will appear. In "departure" enter your departure airport, let's say EPKT and in "destination" let's say EPGD. You can leave other windows clear/unmodified, just make sure that "Database" is set to (AIRAC) cycle that you have currently installed with your NGX (you should always have latest, now it's 1301). Press "Find route" and it will generate realistic route, that uses real world, most current waypoints. Press big "OK" button. You have your route imported into EFB but now it needs "Cruise Altitude", enter anything you desire, let's say 300 (EFB will automatically interpret it as FL300), you're ready to press "Save", so do it. Save window will popup allowing you to choose addon to export your flight plan to. Check PMDG RTE and enter correct path to your NGX directory in FSX folder, mine generally looks like this: "D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG\FLIGHTPLANS\NGX", but in case of pic below, it shows networked path to this location, your path will differ. Hit OK, and now next time you run NGX, this flight plan will be waiting for you under "Co route" lsk in NGX's FMC. This flight plan is almost ready, all you need to do is select runway for takeoff in DEP tab (FMC) and bon voyage After saving your FPL in EFB, don't forget to hit "Activate" button, to activate it's Electronic Flight Bag capabilities, especially if you have spare laptop. Later, when you will become more familiarized, you can add SID and STAR, etc. NGX is most realistic addon for FSX ever so far, so it deserves to be flown in most realistic way possible. Best regards,
  20. I use G940 (which is crap) but FF works great, all I had to do was to disable almost all FF effects in FSX and leave only "Stick shaker" and "Surfaces" on. I have also covered that stupid sensor with tape, so joystick constantly thinks that I'm holding it, but of course I have no idea how older Logitechs work. Also my G940 needs to be calibrated in Logitech software instead of FSX. Sorry for my English, I hope it makes any sense
  21. Do you have max texture size set to 4096 in FSX.cfg file?
  22. Hahaha, thanks, you made my day Few more words please...
  23. Folks, could someone, very briefly, explain what did RSR said about that flight sim future? Just in a few words
  24. Personally I prefer AivlaSoft EFB in networked configuration. It uses RouteFinder/VATroute engines for flight planing, allows to add SID/STAR (using Navigraph data) and exports flight plans to many formats including PMDG's .rte, not to mention it's EFB capabilities Unfortunately it will not generate route automatically as IF does. You should try them both. There's also vroute.net, it has huge database of flight plans ready for download and use in FSX, it has also some fuel planing capabilities, but I can't say how accurate it is at it.
