December 25, 200520 yr I had the same once, as I deactivated the "Render to Texture" Option in the Gfx options. Reactivating it turned everything back to normal. I hope that helps.Regards,Daniel
December 25, 200520 yr You probably have clouds that are DXT3 and that is why Render to Texture has to be on, in FS9....
December 25, 200520 yr I had the same problem several months ago and it turned out to be a problem with my ATI video card driver(s). I manually reinstalled the drivers and the problem went away.Jim

April 1, 200620 yr I just started having this problem, totally out of the blue. Render to Texture is on. It goes to 77% and then the long pause before the inevitable CTD.I swear, Flight Sim has got to be one of the most annoying and buggy games that I have ever played. Between 2002 and 2004, there have been a dozen reinstalls, more tweaking and troubleshooting than flying to get things right, renaming and rebuilding the cfg files, random problems popping up for no apparent reason, and on and on.I would understand it if other games acted the same way, but others work flawlessly, the same way, time after time.
