December 27, 200520 yr I guess that I spent so long trying to learn to start the engines on the Level-D 767-300 that the battery shows DISCHARGED as soon as I switch from External Power or shut down the APU. How do you "recharged" the battery so that I do not have to start the APU BEFORE I break the External Power? Thanks, jerrycwo4
December 28, 200520 yr FSUIPC has a option to give your battery extended (actually indefinate) life. Otherwise the battery will be recharged when u start up again as I recall. But until you become more efficient, FSUIPC may be your answer.
December 28, 200520 yr Something doesn't sound right. If you're on external power, the battery shouldn't be draining at all. I don't have the 767, but perhaps there's a switch on the panel you're not switching so that it's still draining the battery and not off the EPU.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. Are the generator drives engaged, if not , they must be reset by the ground call menu..

Starting the APU is a big hit on the batteries and you would only have one maybe two shots at it before that process completely drains the battery. There is no reason to "break" external power before starting the APU. Start the APU, then bring the APU generator online, then disconnect external power. Real life procedures aside, your problem is still a MSFS bug. MSFS2004 still has the fast battery drain bug. Only an engine generator charges the MSFS battery, otherwise batteries die in a few minutes. Your only solution for this is FSUIPC's battery fix.

The light is on whenever you draw power from the battery alone. You should read the "electrical" section in the manual for further clarification.-
December 31, 200520 yr "Start the APU, then bring the APU generator online, then disconnect external power." Thanks for the advise. As yet I didn't know about "bringing" the APU generator online, nor that you were supposed to start the APU while still at the gate on external power. Here's a silly question, To have a "Cold and Dark" panal or you supposed to be hooked up to external power.... when I am, the panal is NOT cold, nor dark ?????? jerrycwo4

They will explain everything in detail.
December 31, 200520 yr The APU, from what I've seen and heard, is generally started 15 to 10 minutes prior to departing the gate unless there are passenger comfort considerations that would require you to delay it and then is shut off prior to take-off.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. If you want to begin your experience with a cold and dark panel, select the cold and dark panel state that they have preloaded in the options.

More likely, passenger comfort may require you start the APU much earlier than 10-15 minutes prior to departure. Often, the external heat/cold air may not be plugged in or is inadequate for the warming/cooling of the cabin and you would have to start the APU to bring your own air conditioning online.
