To HDR or Not to HDR

Recommended Posts

I would like to move up from a 27 inch LG monitor to a 40 to 50 inch 4K screen.

With all of the hipe over the HDR built into some of the higher priced TVs, is it really worth the extra several hundred dollars to do this in order to run X-plane 11 and to use it as a daily computer? X-plane has a HDR setting in the program that is suppose to enhance the video and would this be a similar HDR as found in the expensive 4K tvs?

Would the 4K screen of say the Samsung 6000 series  give me good enough video from a GTX 980 card?

I will be setting about two feet from the screen. Not a big desk and blind in one eye and poor vision in the other.
