December 29, 200520 yr Getting ready to reinstall FS9...I've added a few AI Aardvark and Evolve AI planes with routes from MRAI. .. The AI works great. I assume I can just copy my aircraft folders out of the aircraft directory and then just "put them back in" after the reinstall...But...Is there an easy way not to lose the current routes that the planes fly via MRAI.
December 29, 200520 yr For a reinstall - I normally would rename the FS folder and move stuff from the old folder into the new one created by the new install. You can all aircraft without panels (AI) easily into the new aircraft folder. You can copy all the traffic files from the SceneryWorldScenery folder to the new one in the new install - that will give you traffic back - provided all the aircraft are in the aircraft folder.I have a test setup with the original Traffic 2005, My Traffic 2006 and Ultimate Traffic. I do not normally keep those aircraft or the traffic file in my active FS folders - I have a batch file setup to move them to a temporary location - or move them into the active FS folder (only one setup at a time of course).Makes testing very easy - having all three original setups easily available.Freeway flyable aircraft frequently will need you to make sure the gauges have been added to the new setup.Payware flyable aircraft and payware scenery usually have to be reinstalled from the source media.
December 29, 200520 yr Thanks so much. I didn't know about the traffic files...If I understand you right, each folder that contains an AI plane can be copied out and then put back into the aircraft main folder...
December 29, 200520 yr yes, you can copy out the aircraft folders, and the traffic bgl files in scenery world scenery folder. I just did that last weekend, ugh.
December 29, 200520 yr Author If you have modified any airports to provide the additional gates for AI traffic, the AFCAD files are in Addon Scenery/Scenery....
