December 30, 200520 yr I just read the review, which mentions problems we might have trying to plug the RXP goodies into the VC. I had those same problems the first time around, and ended up with my GPS in two parts and my transponder split in two. It looked terrible, even with my specs upside down. I tried again, using FS Panel Studio, and kept each piece of new equipment within the boundries of the stock piece it was replacing. That worked well, and my C206 now has a very functional panel with GNS430, Apollo, and the two Sandels. The default Lear autopilot even fits in there at the bottom. So: If you are plugging new doo-dads into the C206 panel, especially the VC, just overlay the new doo-dads exactly over the old ones, and it will work. You can't do what I usually do and just stack it in there.Great plane. Lots of fun to fly. I am looking forward to the H2O version.
December 30, 200520 yr Author No problem with my install at all...everything works great:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/137090.jpg;)
December 30, 200520 yr Great job! I just want folks to know that this plane is adaptable, and that the RXP mods are not a show stopper. Swap out one of your 430's for an Apollo, add in the Sandel EHSI and RMI ( in place of the DME), stick the Lear AP where the stock one is now, and you have my panel.Have fun!
December 30, 200520 yr Author Heck, I've tackled the Piper 180 and Cessna 210 as well....unfortunately the 210 has too many VC .bmp files to maintain the FLT smoothness, but it isn't bad...http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/137100.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/137101.jpg...and yea, I still have the origional panels I can use as well. But them Garmin's are nice to have even when flying VFR and finally deciding to find an appropriate airport to 'direct to' and land with all the info at your fingertips.;)Oh yea, BTW Steve...how do you like the Apollo's? I've been thinking of getting that set, especially to swap out in the Maule.
December 30, 200520 yr I like the Apollo overall, and I use it a lot. You can load up flight plans from FS9 and FS Nav to the Apollo. I use the GL50 for enroute nav for those times I don't feel like loading a plan into the GNS 430 or 530. The rest of the package is good, but I stick with the Garmins because they are easier to use. I use the GNS 430/530 for routes I have saved in them and for arrivals and departures. If I have two GPS's, one will probably be an Apollo. My Maule has the 430/Apollo combo, and it works fine.It looks like you are a pretty good panel modifier. The Apollo will give you some flexibility. It is well worth the price.Have Fun -

It is a bit addicting, and the urge to 'bring up' all your 'regular flyers' is hard to temper ;) I origionally bought the 430/Pro package for my ES Cirrus 20/22, but then the other aircraft got jealous and wanted some new toys too :DI think you might be right about the flexibility, and some aircraft may be a better 'fit' for that package. Thanks for the info...
