FS9 ground textures....again

Featured Replies

Hi again!Does anyone know what the enclosed jpg shot of FS9 ground texture(shot from KORD ramp)is called in FS9 texture (or, possibly in FS9 scenery/texture).I messed up my textures and would like to replace it.Grateful for any help, again....Thanks!Hans HermanssonSweden

That looks like a 'third part' texture to me. Is this happening at all your airports? If so, then whatever 'airport' scenery you may have installed asked you to change the default. Not a good idea in my opinion. There is a texture folder for each 'add-on' scenery that can/should take care of that, or you can create another texture, name it different from the default, and 'call it up' from scenery .bgl. ...anyway, if you installed a scenery at the time this happened, I would take a look at that scenery install procedure, and see what texture may have been replaced...if in fact it did replace a default texture. Then you could go into the FS disks and retrieve, and replace it back into you main texture directory....It is probably concrete.r8

That looks like BEV textures. Have you installed BEV lately?Leo

Hello! No, I haven't installed BEV textures, but I just bought them and plan to install them; only not this particular texture (ground, apron, taxi concrete, or whatever it is called; I am scrolling thru all my textures now and can't seem to find this particular one)Thanks anyway.Hans Hermansson

Did you back up your original textures folder? Keep the original in another part of the hard disk or on a CD :)Download this free program called TView that will let you see the extended .bmps that make up your texture folders, then you can find the texture you dont like:http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/tview.htm

If we're talking about the apron/taxiway texture underneath the aircraft, it looks like it's either taxi_tranm.bmp or taxi_concrete.bmpHope that helps.

Hi again! At lasr; yes it was taxi_tranm, found it.So now I can change away all I like.........Thanks!Hans/Sweden

I find that a lot of addon airports have superior tarmac & taxiway textures so I just use those and stick them in the main texture folder, transforms airports!
