FSNavigator and FSBuild

Featured Replies

Would someone please tell me the differance in what FS Navigator and FSBUILD does. I just received FSBUILD and by reading the info on the FS Navigator's page I cann't tell just what the differance between what each one does? Would it, or is it helpful to use both programs to get the info needed to fly the LDS 767-300 easier or better? thanks jerrycwo4

FSBuild is more powerful, more professional and flexible. FSNavigator looks pretty but is a fairly simple flight planner. FSNavigator does have a movable map, but you cannot plan along airways and doesn't include a lot of the features that FSBuild has (step climb profile, NAT, 3rd party export, weather). On the other hand FSBuild is every GUI designers nightmare and just looks and handles horribly, but the good documentation makes up for it.Bottom line: If you want to plan your flights professionally, go with FSBuild. If you like it simple, go for FSNavigator.Hope this helps,Pat

Another view on this. I use some of the internet based Flight Planning services which are free, and just copy the waypoints into FS navigator, if I want something more involved than the FS nav plans . Here is an examplehttp://rfinder.asalink.net/free/Now you have choice of Flightplans that can be put into FS Nav, either by FS Nav itself, or Route Finder. I tried FsBuild and really didn't like it at all, then tried the FsNav demo and loved it. Before you pay, give the FsNav free demo a try. Doesn't cost anything and you get up to 20 flight plans and flights to make up your mind before you have to shell out any money. Thething I really ove about FS Nav is the Moving Map, once you fly with it, you will not want to be without it. www.fsnavigator.com

And here's yet another take. I have both FSNavigator and FSBuild. Like Bob, I like to use an online resource for flight plans:FlightAware: http://flightaware.com/You can check the most recent filed flight plans (in the US) and I then use FSBuild to generate the FP for use by ActiveSky, FSNav and the LDS767. I do like the moving map feature of FSNav.
