January 8, 200620 yr I must admit, I hardly fly in the US and seeing that my PMDG 747's have been grounded because of a very loud 'static' / 'screetch' noise in the cockpit, I don't do much cross Atlantic flights BUT recently I decided to do some US flights again ... now I have these blocks of water (coastline and big rivers). They do not occur in Europe or anywhere else. Any ideas what could cause this? (See picture)RegardsTerblanchehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/138343.jpg
January 8, 200620 yr Terblanche,Looks like you have some missing coastline scenery files in your FS9 installation. Have you installed/uninstalled any water/coastline scenery lately? Taburet Canada Waters, Taburet US Waters, Ultimate Terrain US or Canada? If you can't identify the cause I'll suggest that you give the exact location of your screenshot. This will enable me or somebody else to identify exactly which scenery file (.bgl) that's missing.Ulf B
January 8, 200620 yr Oihh - thanx UlfI installed UT-US & Canada but disabled it in the scenery.cfg file because it eats away on the frames.I'll give it a try and enable it and see what happens.By the way, the screenshot was taken just after take-off from KPHL on my way to KMIA.RegardsTerblanche
January 8, 200620 yr "I installed UT-US & Canada but disabled it in the scenery.cfg file because it eats away on the frames.I'll give it a try and enable it and see what happens."--------------Did you disable the features in the Ultimate Terrain setup and configuration utility?

If you choose not to use UT, you need to disable it's features in it's setup utility. If you don't want to use UT at all, you need to restore the FS default scenery, which is an option in the setup utility. Then you can disable UT. UT though shouldn't be affecting your frame rate though, except maybe if you have the night lighting option selected which ads light poles which are 3D objects. Try disabling them in the Setup before taking the drastic step of going back to default!! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
January 8, 200620 yr I did what you said ... reinstalled default FS scenery and then uninstalled UT.Will try it again one day when I do VFR flying in the US. For now it's all above FL310 because I installed some SimFlyers and FlyTampa scenery again.Thanx for reminding me of UT, because I couldn't figure out the blocks and because I thought it was disabled, it could not be that - and it was.;-)Baie dankie (thank you very much in Afrikaans)Terblanche
