Here's what might be happening, if I remember how this works.

X-Plane doesn't save your throttle position as part of the situation (.sit) file. That might be to allow for recalibration or remapping of the throttle input. Whatever the reason, every flight starts at zero throttle, even if it was saved mid-flight at full throttle. 

All you have to do is rock the throttle back and forth a bit, or move it to normal cruise setting and the engine should come back to life. If that's not it, then I'm stumped.
