May 14, 20179 yr Twice I have to to make unscheduled descents and landings after the A/P goes wonky. It seems to happen if I change anything with the NAV setup. Navigating airways, I can go back and forth from NAV LOC to HDG and back, but if I switch from NAV to GPS, the A/P starts rolling back and forth as if it cannot capture the course, and the rolls become more divergent until I finally have to DISCO the A/P and hand fly. Turning the A/P off, then back on, does not resolve the problem. So I have to hand fly to the nearest airport. Today, in cruise, I was checking out the NAV 1/HOLD/NAV 2 switch on the sub panel over by the co-pilot's panel, and after switching back from NAV 2, the rolls started, and wouldn't stop. Again nothing fixed it, so had to land at KRAP to check it out. I had flown nearly 500 miles without a problem until I flipped that switch. This is with FSX, WinXP, all updates installed, and V1.2.
