430W help required! :) [solved]

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've recently purchased the gns430 v2 for X-Plane 11 and I need some help getting it going.

I've got the plugin installed and comes up as a window just fine, so it seems to be working in that respect. My problem is actually getting it working in the cockpit over the default LR 430 gps screen.

There seems to be no dedicated manual for the 430 so I followed the integration instructions in the 530 v2 manual but it does nothing, I only see the default gps screen in the cockpit.

Extremely frustrating.

I've taken the panel preview png and taken the measurements correctly (I believe) using MS Paint, inserted an extra entry into the RXP ini file and added that entry's name to the draw to entry, and still nothing.

It was (is) advertised as being kind of simple enough to integrate with a few steps, so am I missing something here? Do I need to use Planemaker at some point?

The planes I've tried are all already using the default LR 430 (AFL 172SP and a bunch of Carenado aircraft) so I don't need a new panel, I only need the RXP's screen over it as advertised. Really doing my head in...

In short, I need some help please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, should you follow the instructions to the letter, it shall display like in the User's Manual screenshot.

You might want to post your INI file, and possibly your PNG?

This one seems easy at first glance: make sure to change:

visible = false

to

visible = true

;-)

I'm sure I tried this, it made the window version of the gns pop up on loading the aircraft but didn't replace the virtual cockpits gps screen with the rxp gns screen :/

I'll try again to be double sure though, gimme a sec.

Edit: IT WORKED! Thank you, I could have sworn I'd done that already, I guess not.

Thanks again, I had a couple of other queries but can't recall them right now, another time, another thread.

Thank you again :D
